  1. Default Right or Wrong Carbine Call

I made up my mine I wanted an early Underwood carbine if I ever came across one. I would only make decision to purchase if I could eye ball in person and strip it down for inspection. Gun shows came and went but finally found one of interest. Found early Underwood Serial #1388xxx, 3-43, Bomb, P on barrel. No import marks. Barrel looked great inside & out. Mixed parts I expected but was glad to see Underwood bolt & receiver even though bolt was round. Other parts looked in excellent condition as follows:

    barrel - underwood 3-43
receiver - underwood & serial # (no other markings) is this normal?
    bolt - .U.
    slide - AOB
    trigger housing - N-9
    front sight - N
    rear sight - IR.CO
    recoil plate - SG
    band/lug - SA
    trigger - BR in box
    hand guard - M-U
    stock - IR
    under stock grip P
    mag lock M
    oiler BK

I,m not a collector just wanted a good shooter. $850.00

I would say your in the ball part at what you paid for a full rebuilt M1. I think you will have a good shooter with what you bought.

    Thanks for reply,
Using a magnifer found a very faint underwood flaming bomb under the serial number, can,t beleive I missed it.

Some of the bomb stampings are very faint to start with so not surprising you could have missed it at first.
