    Default Danish 30.06

Picked up a crate of Danish 30.06 today. 600+ rounds in enblocs and bandoliers.

Anyone have experience with these in their M1? I understand them to be 144 gn steel jacketed, copper plate?

    Nice clean looking ammo.

Danish '06 was/is some really nice ammunition. I know a number of people that wish they'd bought a bunch more when it was available.

I have three crates I bought 5-6 years ago. Best military surplus ammo ever. Steel jackets and berdan primed.
Due to ammo shortages, no warning shot will be fired

I have a case of AMA 73 and it is by far the most accurate surplus ammo I' ve ever had or shot, in 03 , Garand and my Weatherby Vanguard. Wish I could find more. Where did you find a case?

I bought a case of the stuff AMA 89 shot good in most everything I owned back them. It's all still in the case except a couple of Bandos. I probably wont shoot the stuff as most of my shooting anymore is for hunting besides I don't own a 30-06 M1 Garand anymore. Might be good stuff to break down and reload into some hunting ammo, new powder and a soft point slug. It is very good ammo.

The only negative about the stuff is it had Berden primers.

Why break it down just to dump the powder? This is a waste. If you reload and are able to break down ammo and reload with new powder, why not just work up a load in once fired brass? Never have been able to understand why people break down perfectly good ammo just to put a SP on it. Hunting or not, just re-load some once fired and have your hunting round.
