I set out to get three firearms I have always wanted ... 1) a Lend Lease (1941) M1 Garand; 2) an original low numbered Rock Island 1903. the last one is a Springfield M1911. Doesn't have to be perfect, or even beautiful - zero to little finish would be fine - just correct/original.

A Marine friend of mine, Spent some time @ the chosin, Showed me a Garand he had. All correct for a lend-lease, except a newer stock. He had gone to a gunsmith years ago. My friend did not know the value. Smith said, "I will put a nicer stock on for you" End of story!

Thoughts?

My 80,xxx range Springfield has a pretty sharp downturn.

In that condition, all correct, $2500+ or even ++

Mine is the original #107571 in first post. I bought it a few years ago and was offered blue book 85%=3500. I feel all orig and matching should be a little more. Maybe I will look for some trades also. Thanks.

I think that $3500 to $4500 would be close as far as a value goes. I would jump on it for the $2500 mentioned......

I guess I'm behind the times. I saw a similar condition SA go for $2500 early last year.....
