    I have a m96 with BH in front of the serial number, what does that mean; and also, if I gave some of my serial number 5127xx, could you tell me when if was made, thanks.

    Any '96 Swede I ever saw had the date of manufacture on the receiver ring.

    I think the letters are just part of the serial. Don't know what they mean, if anything. As mentioned reciever should be dated.

    B.H. stands for Bertal Hard the inspector at the time and is not part of the serial number. Credit for the info goes to Dana Jones and his Crown Jewels book.
