4-Groove. Interesting that they sneak in once in a while.
Didn't even realize it was a 4 groove, good catch.
The barrel is not likely a 4-groove. The photo is probably deceptive.
The rifle is not entirely original. And the condition is something less than pristine. But, it still sold for a fair price.

I've never figured out how to take a good bore photo.
Is there a know time window for the 4 groove RA barrels? Did they come from another contractor?
For reference I have a RA 4-43 that is a 4 groove.
most 4 groove barrels were made before 6-43..though some did trickle through later..but they are not common.
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.
My 6-43 Rem. 1903A3 has a 4 groove barrel and the entire rifle is original. Guess I lucked out. Is there a premium for 4 groove barrels?
Due to ammo shortages, no warning shot will be fired
" Is there a premium for 4 groove barrels?"
If you have a two groove barrel, you will think no
If you have a four groove barrel you will think yes.
Remington did a gradual transition from four-groove to two-groove barrels between 5-43 and 6-43. Of course, a few widely-scattered two-groove barrels appear earlier and a few widely-scattered 4-groove barrels appear later. The later 4-groove barrels are probably waivered rejects.
Remington did not engage the services of a contractor for barrel manufacture.
Hope this helps.

I know that John would agree that virtually ANY change in the M1903 or M1903A3 made by Remington was not a "stop/start" proposition. It was usually introduced gradually.
