    Here's a really nice late Colt with an interesting magazine. Under one of the grips is inscribed "0xford"

    Thats a real Beauty, looks like Mr. Oxford was pretty careful with it. Thanks for the pictures.

    I've spoken with people who served with him and they told me he wasn't known to have carried a 1911. Probably took it as a souvenir out of a pile of weapons we were giving as aid. More than likely this pistol didn't see the light of day from 1945 until it was taken from storage and sent to Vietnam.
