    Could one of you guy's please do an SRS check for me on Krag rifle 164174? Thanks!

    Sorry, my friend, falls between 164162 and 164179.

    Thanks Dick! Were those other two rifles issued to the 26th U.S. Volunteer Infantry? That's the block that I was thinking 164174 might've belonged to. I used to have a list of every rifle by shipping crate that was issued to that unit.

    Should have given you the citations when found, but am always mindful of the horseshoe factor:

    164162 "L", later "G", 29th USV Inf.
    164179 "F" 33rd USV Inf.

    Too bad you cannot find that list - would be a great illustration for those who think they were handed out in order! :-)

    Yep, out of the entire bunch, there weren't two that were consecutive. The Krag is on Gunbroker and it has its original configuration as per what they were putting out at that moment in a 98. It has the correct 96 rear sight and it appears to have just about all of it's original or at least Armory (if refinished) finish. It's probably the best one for auction on gunbroker. Or at least it was as of last night with 6 hours to go.
