    Default Trigger work

I bought a Rock Island government 45acp. Pistol is really good except for the trigger pull. It is rather heavy. I think U.S. parts swap right in this pistol. So, can I swap, say a Colt trigger mechanism, and will that fix it? What would a trigger job cost? Or, can I do the work? What is involved? Thanks a million

take it to a good smith well versed in 1911's & save yourself some headache, worry & quite possibly danger/peril..........this ain't one of the jobs amateurs should attempt in my veryhumble opinion..........it shouldn't cost that much for a good trigger job..........might get him to slick up the feed ramp while he's at it too.Bill at CYlinder & Slide in Nebrask is superbe, his rates are reasonable & he always had a good turn around time too.......
