    Default Which buttplate for A4?

The title pretty much says it all. I have an A4 with SN Z4?????. It has a smooth buttplate, and a broken 'trapdoor'. I plan on buying a new door, but from what little I know of the 03s, I would think that this rifle should have a checked buttplate. Am I correct, or not? Please educate.

I believe that "as issued" it would have received a stamped, "R" marked (small checkering) buttplate that was blued.
