Default Info on correct firing pin for SC 03-A3

    Gentlemen:
For Smith-Corona 03-A3 #4830117 would correct firing pin be marked NP? What does NP stand for? REALLY appreciate the help on this forum. Would not know where to find this type of info anywhere else.

No. A Smith-Corona firing pin would not be marked "NP". "NP" stands for North Point, an Ordnance spare parts contractor.

Thank you Mr. Beard for the information. What markings and finish would be correct for firing pin for this rifle?

the only marking iv seen on a SC cocking rod is a number 1 or 7.. Vi Shooters page shows a great set of pics of Remington Vs SC cocking rods
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.

I assume that you refer to the striker instead of the firing pin, otherwise known as the cocking piece. Smith-Corona strikers are unmarked and have a blue finish. Springfield and Rock Island strikers are also unmarked and have a blue finish. But, Smith-Corona strikers have a unique machining feature that distinguishes them from Springfield and Rock Island strikers. PM for details if interested.
