Ten years ago, I bought a Rock River National Match for $800. About 5 years ago, I went to a gun show and bought all the pieces at various vendors, assembled it there with borrowed tools. I paid about $550 for everything, I think the barrel was $75. I shot it across the course in a practice match and it didn't do half bad!
$350.00 & up.......... White Oak Prec service rifle/Kreiger 1-7" bbl, on new RR lower /RR upper was tad more........ & several in between.. Bill has me beat on AR's price.

Olympic Arms PCR AR-15 about 18 years ago, $650, just finished building a dedicated AR-15 in .22lr for about $400
Armalite mid-length, flat top, gas block, a year and a half ago for nine hundred and something. Case of 1000 rounds of LC 5.56 for $310 back in August.
