Default Model 1917 in 505 Gibbs

Many years ago Maynard Buehler used some very heavy caliber rifles to test his scope mounts,
I found some photos from a 1959 magazine that pictured some of Buehler's test rifles. The Model 1917 is chambered for 505 Gibbs and has been sporterized into a carbine. The other photos shows a 30-06 next to a 505 Gibbs for comparison.

We should have used it on some of the snowbirds
Once it has been decided to fight, one should do so to the very end, to conquer or perish...... Nothing smells better than the body of a dead enemy.
