I've been give a converted military chest by my foster sis; looks like it was once owned by an artist or some such, as the original OD has been removed and an overall clear-cote was given. Here's some views, can anyone identify this box?
The right-rear hinge is broken, and the hasp is missing from the left-front clasp. The lid-bracket had been bent-off the body-tab and bent out of shape; I mangaged to straighten within reason it with a drill-press machinist vise. Two wooden or otherwise brackets have obviously been removed from the inside top.
There are two sticks glued into the left corners to accomodate a home-made tray; the bottom is divided as seen. Note the finger-joints along the edges. The bottom and the inside carry the original OD.
Thanks very much in advance,
John
