Thread: Mauser Example

  1. Default Mauser Example

I am interested in having a WW2 era Mauser for a collection of rifles. Prefer German made. Not looking for museum piece, actually if will shoot will be satisfied. Like most today, I don't have a lot of loose cash so something cheap is fine. Does anybody here know a good place to look for one? Thanks.

Gun Shows---What you want would be a "Russian Capture"., they were taken apart by the Russians, refinished and reassembled with mixed parts, so they will not be matched. Some important parts (like bolts) were fitted and renumbered to match reciever. An ugly sloppy finish was applied to the stock, which can be easily removed. Prices have increased the last few years but I think they can still be had for 200-400 bucks. They are reported to be good shooters.
