    Default come-ups for difference yardages

    some years ago there was a list posted up here that shows the BALLPARK come ups from 100-200, 200-300, 300-400, 400-500 etc...

    i dont recall who wrote it or posted it but even though i copied and printed it once or twice, i can NOT find it anywhere...

    has anyone got a copy of it they can repost?

    This should get you started for standard 7.62:

    200 meters = 100 meter zero -1 click
    300 meters = 200 meter zero +2 (or +3) clicks
    600 meters = 200 meter zero +10 clicks

    From a 100 yard zero come up 2 minutes for 200 yards.
    From a 200 yard zero come up 3 minutes for 300 yards.
    From a 300 yard zero come up 7 minutes for 500 yards.
    From a 300 yard zero come up 11 minutes for 600 yards.
    From a 500 yard zero come up 4 minutes for 600 yards.
    From a 600 yard zero come up 10 minutes for 800 yards.
    From a 800 yard zero come up 6 minutes for 900 yards.
    From a 900 yard zero come up 7 minutes for 1000 yards.

    Or if you lose this again, just count the 1MOA clicks between lines on an M1's Elevation Drum and you'll be close

    yeah, im all over this. the come-ups from 3 to 400, 4 to 500 and 5 to 600 are what im most concerned with. ive got a no-sighter 'fun' match (laying a foot of snow with a service rifle, with 1/2 minute targets?) this saturday and dont have a lot of shots to give away 'walking' my hits into the black in the middle ranges...

    Maury, your list is closer but missing the 300 to 400 and 400 to 500 that i used to have...

    What bullet and velocity? 6:00 or center hold? (If 6:00 hold, what is the size of the aiming black at each distance?)

    Any decent ballistics software will give you the needed information. Here are some samples for a couple typical loads. The first two are PCB output, with the "Up [clicks]" column being the relevant one. The last is from JBM's online calculator, where the "Drop (MOA)" column does it. Simple subtraction will produce the center-hold "come-ups" between any two given ranges. If that's too hard, here's an approximate result for either load -

    3 to 400: ~3.5 MOA
    4 to 500: ~4 MOA
    5 to 600: ~4.5 MOA

    this is the one I have (I saved it in word)

    600 YARD COME UPS --By: Master Po -- This formula works
    for .223, 7.62mm and .30/06. It will get you on paper and a lot of the time
    in the black. Caliber, bullet or velocity doesn't matter.
    >From a 100 Yds. zero come up 2 minutes for 200 yds.
    >From a 200 Yds. zero come up 3 minutes for 300 yds.
    >From a 300 Yds. zero come up 7 minutes for 500 yds.
    >From a 300 Yds. zero come up 11 minutes for 600 yds.
    >From a 500 Yds. zero come up 4 minutes for 600 yds.
    You may have to touch up the elevation at 600 yds. but the 200 and 300 come
    ups are usually in the 10 and X ring no matter what rifle is being shot.

    this is the one i was looking for...

    like i mentioned already, I HAVE THE COME UPS FROM 200 TO 300 AND 300 TO 600 ive been shooting XTC for 10 years. i was looking for Master Po's but i thought it had the 400yd come ups too... thanks Former Cav!

    i dont need to tape anything to my stock because A) i already have something there and B) all of those come ups are in my data book...

    For typical 200 300 600 yards NMC just remember the come ups like the time.....3:11 from 200 to 300 up three minutes and from 300 to 600 up eleven minutes....hence the 3:11. Easy to remember. You also can jot it down

    With mine using a load of 47 grs IMR 4895 and a 150 gr FMJ, holding at a 6 o'clock position (8" bull). My rear sight is at it's lowest point so until I get out to 300 yards I probably won't need any come up. The range that I belong to only goes out to 300 yards so I think that I'm pretty much set.
