    $400.00 for what sounds to me like a GI bring back Mauser is a very fair price.

    Would be IF it was a bring back, but it's Not!
    If there is no ser nr on the bbl then it is a rebbl, but it is not a German rebbl or it would have an 0.2 on the bbl shank.
    Sounds like a Bulgarian or Roumanian post war rework. They are the ones who numbered the stock parallel to the butt plate. They Also didn't pencil etch any numbers on parts. Many of those rifles came in before the requirememnt for importers marks also.
    I'd try to buy it for at least $100 less than asking price. Altho as said previously RCs are now bringing in the $350-450 range.
