    Question '98 bolt interchangable?

I just acquired a Brazilian 98 Mauser that has been re-barreled to .308 Winchester. The chamber is somewhat 'buggered up' and the bolt is binding in the action. I may have to replace the bolt and do some chamber work. Is the bolt on this rifle unique to the 'Brazilian' Mauser or will any other '98' Mauser bolt work in this rifle?

    Default

If the bolt is binding in the receiver, you do not have a bolt problem, (they are impossible to bend), you have a bent receiver. It is also possible that your extractor is dragging on the right rear receiver bridge. It sounds like a bubba rebarrel job if the chamber is "buggered up". I doubt that a different bolt will solve your problems.
