    Post Are these WWII french grenades?

    I found these at an estate sale today. I believe they are french, am I correct?

    And yes they are demilled.

    I picked up a pair of F1 French grenades a year or so ago. Mine date from WWI. The pineapple type (defensive) was the favorite of the "dough boys" as we entered the war with no standard grenades. The smooth bodied one (offensive) is the more scarce of the two as the thin body tends to rust out. Here is a picture of my WWI types, plus a French WWI VB rifle grenade.
