    Default M1911A1 Holster (Sears 1942)

Picked this up the other day, thought it was in very good condition and the price was right. Any thoughts? Thanks

That is a fine looking Holster. It looks like you have some vertigris (green gunk) growing on the brass rivots that you will want to clean off the holster. I've had good luck using a toothpick and an old toothbrush. Try avoid getting it on your bare skin as it is poison.

The Sears manufactured holsters are some of the more common examples that are encountered. The Sears leather company is not related to Sears Roebuck that we have today.

Try to lift as much of the verdigris off with the toothpick as possible. If you brush it into the threads it won't come out and becomes permanent.
