    Scott Meadows book on holsters and cartridge boxes has the best information on the adoption of the carrying devices. I don't believe loose carry was ever considered for the Model 1911.

    There was a belt on ebay like this one only with the marine corps snaps that sold for $1780. I have seen a picture of a marine wearing this belt also but cant remember where so I could post it. Derrick

    All I can think is that that is an awful lot of webbing for how much storage?
    They must have had those burlington mills going 24/7.
