Nice, original Johnson rifles, especially if they have the proper bayonet and sling usually
will cost in the $4-5K range at auction. I'm talking one with 95% original finish and
unblemished wood.
Gordon: I think you meant a 3 (three) digit example.................
I'm interested and sent you an E-Mail. Is it still for sale? Please provide description and
pictures. Thanks, caddy2507@comcast.net
Interesting post. Thanks for the pictures and the story. I was unaware that such
a revolver existed. Mike
Sorry about your cracked grip on the Astra. Those old grips -- Bakelite or hard rubber -- get
very brittle with age. What many guys do, if they wish to shoot their old pieces is to purchase...
It will be really interesting to see where this ends up. It was only listed yesterday (Sunday)
evening and within a few hours was already over $7K. I'm betting it tops $20K before it's over.
I read in the Marine Times that the front line units that have been using this
weapon for almost four years will get their wish to change to the Glock 19.
Apparently, they were the only group in...
I scoped a .357 handgun once about 30 years ago. I never shot it much after that. Too bulky and after
a bit of practice I found I could do as well (out to 100 yards) with iron sights.
Also,...
If you refer to the physical location (bricks and mortar) not true. The tax is paid to the state where
the business is INCORPORATED. That's why many businesses here in PA, including the one I...
The pistol does not have a "K" marked barrel but is marked with a "5". It has the correct contours but
I am still suspect. I sent Mark (Jack the Dog) an E-Mail about the slide stop -- he missed...
That price is really "over the top" for that pistol, but at auctions, anything can and will happen.
I recall that #38 last year went at auction (I believe it was RIA, Rock Island Auctions) for over $140,000. However, the buyer was upset as it had a replaced barrel (common on those very Colts due...
Thanks guys for your opinions. I much appreciate it.
Hello:
I have an opportunity to purchase a 1946 Colt commercial that's in the
middle of Poyer's serial number range (C20001-C222001). It's number
is C2213XX. It's in 95%+ condition -- no box...
I have an opportunity to purchase a 1944 M1 that is supposedly all original, correct and looks to be fired very little. This is not a rework or arsenal refinish. It is from a very well known...
I think the only caliber for a replacement that will be seriously considered will be back
to a 45 ACP. That is implied in the article. The 9MM Beretta in the current conflicts has
been seriously...
An exposed floor plate magazine recently sold on E-Bay for $1,700. They are quite
rare.
Yes, we're still here although nothing new to say from my side. Last M1 carbine purchase
I made was about 7 years ago. Got a "like new" Winchester in an auction. It appears
to be an unissued,...
A true gentleman. I have copies of every book he published and I cherish them for the information
he provided. We exchanged E-Mails a number of times when I had a question or two and he was ...
Yes, I've seen them in use and I have a later model (circa 1974). They were popular among bulls-eye
shooters "back in the day" for use in competition since they provided storage for 4 guns, a...
+1 on that. I took mine out of the safe and was looking her over tonight. Haven't shot her for
about 20 years but I did use her for Bullseye shooting back then. She still looks like new but I ...
I bought one as well. If you collect GO pistols, this is an invaluable book. Much new information
is included.
Looks to me by the serial number it's what is referred to as a "black army" Colt, 1918 production.
They had a rather poor dull black finish that flaked off easily and usually what remains is a...
Looking for a 1911 Remington UMC in about 85%+ condition, not refinished and with
original parts. Not interested in rebuilds, mixed parts guns. If you have a nice one and
want to sell it send...
