I like the crown from the PTG set up. If it was done by a first time user, that's a clean job. Touch it up with some cold blue and your done.
No dog in the fight, but this does look nice.

Well I'm a beginner starting too collect books, it hasn't been bad so far. Ahhh you guys know I'm really just a shooter that also enjoys the history.
Thanks' guys!
Yes, that's the one.
Is his "Book of the Springfield" worth the $10.00 I paid from the gun show? :icon_scratch:
Actually the Navy had LC clip up ammo for them, finding ammo actually loaded up from NWSC Crane for Match use is hard too find.
Angus Konstam & Chris Henry's "Two Great Naval Battles of WWII" is a very good read, I think you will change your opinion of Adm. Lutjens being a marginal commander? The refusal too surrender Jewish...
I have a BAR sling with L.F.S stamped in the short strap near the D ring, the long strap is stamped MRT 10-57 and that's it. No makers mark.
What you describe isn't uncommon, what it uncommon too me is the amount of rounds needed too settle the action back/close too where it was pre-clean. For the most part bedded rifles return too there...
NO. Leave it where its at, clip a 1/2 coil off the ejector spring until it ejects where you want or close too it but don't clip off more than 1-1/2 coils total. If you go too far all you have done is...
I don't remember if it was Tom's or Gunny, doesn't matter. On too the Minelli, I have only seen a few, off the top of my head maybe 7 total, 3 of those were on rifles being used at the range. There...
Its been so long ago, my understanding was that he did what he did too the stock and that took about a years worth of rub downs before he was 100% happy with its outcome. When all was said done the...
You guys can argue all you want, what's what.... By far the prettiest stock I've ever see was done by forum member Vulch he used Log Wood stain and then BLO. What's the saying BLO once a day for a...
My rifle has a well used SA 10-44 barrel.
The bottom flat of the pistol grip or on the curve before it flattens out? If that the case maybe they were pilot holes for the leather lace on cheek piece so it would be easier too screw into the...
That's why there called sea stories, most often they start off with this ain't no BS I know a guy that was there......
Three things too add, #1. the avg. American was much small then as compared too today. #2. You gotta' love M1 ball for reaching out and #3. they also used straight stocks.
I didn't know the good Commander was promoted too Capt? I know that the Navy traded and bartered barrels for other needed parts when there budget was cut or getting low, mostly for complete NMA2...
I would say NO it is not, the barrel on that rifle is Navy SA#11010457. If it was a AFPG 7.62mmm rifle it would have either a Navy SA#11686514 barrel that was traded between teams or the RIA#11686320...
That vid was from a while ago, Rick Curtis a former USMC shooter posted it up.
Am I correct too say that RIA didn't make a smooth faced trigger? The trigger/sear I scooped up isn't pointed, I'm happy too have pinned down a time frame.
Thanks, Guy's.
Some time ago I was digging threw a pile of 03 parts at the fun show and found a nice smooth faced 03 trigger the sear is also unmarked, I liked it and thought it was neat. So for the risky sum of...
