Bet you won't do that again!:grommit:
Glad you and the rifle came out unharmed.
Beautiful rifles!
I can find no fault with that logic.
Yeah, I've noticed a distinct lack of 1918 dated barrels. Guess something with a later date may be in order. But I'm not up against any timeline. Some damn kid will probably scope it with an acog...
Inspect those BHO initials carefully. There could possibly be a hammer and sickle stamp close by ;)
LOL!
And will do on the pics....
Thank you for looking, Rick. I'm 0 for 4 at the plate.:eusa_wall:
Is it ill mannered to bump your own post?
Thank you my friend!
How can you tell the shroud was SC?
I don't mind spending a little coin to put a correct bolt back on it. Or the correct safety. It's not like we're making these rifles anymore. It may be a little sappy, but when I look at one of these...
Just to bring it back as close to original military configuration as $ allows. I've already done an A-3, with a second one on the way. Just the nostalgic type I guess.
Got a new receiver in and wanted to pick the great minds on this forum.

Left the armory late 1918.
Bolt is incorrect, should be J6.
Trigger...
Usually it just crawls all over me to see military rifles sporterized. But those rifles are true works of beauty.
And one could always plug those rear holes up! :icon_wink:
Just spewed Bombay out my nose! Funniest thing I've heard all day. Thanks!
I've used Tandy's Leather Dye to good effect. Dark Brown comes out reddish. Not my original ideal, got it off Gus Fisher from the M14 Forums.32264
Aww, shucks!:icon_redface:
Gentlemen,
Thank you for your insight!
Thanks Jon,
Was under no illusions that a $200 beat to hell carbine was the ticket to early retirement!:1948:

104000? Does that mean they were not numbered sequentially?
Edit: Doh! An hour later and a little Dr Bombay and I at last understand that you're saying that there were 104000 produced starting...
Morning!
Got two A3' s s-l-o-w-l-y coming together.
Rem 4113886
Smith Corona 4727490
Could someone please check SRS? They were both reactivated receivers.
And I'd like to say thank you for...
Morning Gents,
Got a bobbed Krag, former prop gun, faint marks from a front barrel band, and turned down at the muzzle for a bayonet. Curious if someone would check the books on it?
1898...
Many thanks!
Just bought on GB
