Very carefully.
I also had scar tissue form over where my ribs were busted, 40 some odd years ago, that had to be removed last year, because of cancer. I think it was more of a pre cancer issue.
Penny for your thoughts, if you sneezed, Vern.
Sorry that I missed your Birthday, Dick. Hope it was a good one, and that they continue to be that way.
Number 20? Nice find.
I was there many years ago. Don't know how it is today, but was a 'very' large show. at that time.
Glad you did well.
I 'used' to ride bikes. From 1960 to 2005. Junk bikes, super bikes. You name it. I consider some bikes, unsafe, or very unforgiving. Death wobble and such. Quit riding because of the deer.
I choose...
They got one at Kontum that had a GI by his head. He did survive. ( the GI. Not the kitty. ) I 'assume' they used 16s. ( bad word. assume ) Probably a trifle noisy, for a few seconds.
Happened a...
Gentlemen,
I went through basic with the M14. It was, I thought a good semi auto weapon. I was put on a BAR, for awhile. Heavy, but it worked. Then.... they gave me a select fire M14. I thought this...
Dave,
My son builds a few ARs, over the course of a year. There are a 'lot' of things that can be changed on them. I would suggest that you take it back to your shop, and explain to them what is...
I had to laugh on this one. I've installed, correction, 'attempted' to install tiny pins with tiny springs, while in our kitchen, on carpet, and, IT'S GONE! Always found them, ( so far ) but 'never'...
You did a 'very' good job on this. You also shared some very good information. ( now, if I can just remember it )
Bob,
Not a bad group for an 'old, infirm' individual,, with iron sights at 100 yards.
Hope whoever winds up shooting it, appreciates the work you've done.
God Bless you and the people of your kind.
You gentlemen have some beautiful rifles, and museum quality displays. Amazing. And on top of everything else, it looks like you live in some beautiful country Fred. Many thanks to you all for...
I see it, and I find myself wondering about the man who was behind the weapon. Wondering what happened to him. It is a very thought provoking piece, if that is the right word. The framing idea is a...
Some of the post model 70s had some issues. I had a friend who had one, that the screws that tightened the action to the stock, were too long, and bottomed out before tightening down completely. I...
Seeing as I use my ARs for varmint hunting, I cheat. I install a 3 lb timney. If one goes this route, check out the web, as prices vary somewhat. I also installed a smith trigger once. It made a...
Just returned from my 1906. It is as I remembered. There is a small slot in the breech block about the width of a .22 rim, and the thickness of the cardboard around a pair of Calvin Klein leather...
That was around 40 years ago that it happened. I still remember it, and I believe I remember how and why. I will get it out today and look it over, and see if I agree about the design of it. I did...
Congratulations Bill on a job, obliviously well done. Love to see it. Hope you have many hours of enjoyment with it. Good hunting.
( and as an aside, I would say that it is. )
HoosierNative,
I wouldn't be too worried about the gun, however I would recommend the use of shooting glasses when firing it. I have a 1906 Winchester .22 which is chambered for .22 short, longs and...
I agree with Shooter5. With the AR platform, what ever suits you, you can put together. I have a DPMS flattop, 4X16 scope, with a 20" bull barrel that will shoot with my Remington VLS. And that is...
If the muzzle crown is good, it should do very well. Keep us informed. It should be a 'super' little squirrel rifle! Much luck, and try not to smile too much while walking through the woods.
Hopefully, one hell of a shooter.
My hat's off to you, on your labor of love Sir.
I was in Viet Nam in 1969. Never was a big fan of the forward assist. Kind of like getting a tractor stuck. If you stop before it gets stuck too tight, it's a lot easier to get out.
You can kick...
