I don't care if you don't like the M16, that is your opinion but you are missing some information about the current M16. And I do mean M16, as in the US military series of rifle,...
This has been brought up already...............it appears to be from 2012......... at least that is what the date on it says.
So the story is long since dead.....................
Sorry --fat fingered it.....
Yes- there were issues with the short gas system providing gas at a much higher pressure than a rifle. That increased the carrier speed, which the magazine wasn't designed for. So at times the...
Certainly not knocking the 6.5 Grendel but that information/ thread is awfully dated.
IE. The use of SPEC II chambers.
Not to mention the OP in the link making statements that are not in the...
I have an 6.8 upper.
Switch like normal and done. The mags are the only issue.
Shoots as accurate as a 5.56.
My wife used it to hunt last year- took a nice buck.
Reloading: Brass is sort of...
FWIW:
I wouldn't bother looking at the buffer/spring and the greasing of it.
You'd have to pack ALOT of grease to get it to bind.
What I do is this:
-see if good factory ammunition solves it....
I saw that too.............
I decided the same thing, the seller is mistaken, and instead of arguing- just don't bid on it. :)
Yes- On mine it is.
Are you having trouble with the amount of gas you're getting?
Or in other words: Is the barrel port and front sight assy gas port not lining up?
PS............
To the OP:
Google the wartime NAZI k98 receiver markings and the FN 98 action markings. I have only seen the two- go back look again and see what it is. I have two---so I feel...
My only thought on the bores is look at the condition of the rifles overall!!
I agree that by the time they were used in 308, that all the ammo was non corrosive. The bores don't look to be...
I'm not sure of your question, or if you have one............
But the several Israeli K98 308's I own:
Are either FN commercial marked receivers with original 308 barrels.
Or German WW2 marked...
If it were me and this is just my 2%......................
I would try to find out who did the NM upgrades. IE. I have an IHC that was match conditioned by Mc Coy. The premium is in that HE did...
This law has been around since the 80's or certainly 90's.
This isn't new. But thanks! :)
A more current (well relatively speaking) is the Rifle Magazine Number 99, May 1985. pge 28.
They shattered several.................
But I agree Hatcher didn't hide anything.
Yes- it must have the same external dimensions to be a Service rifle.
I have the RCBS. Works well and does what it should. No it doesn't move around at all.
No issues- I have bought several extra primer pocket brushes and when I get going fast, an individual wire...
Oh, ok, I see what you are driving at now:
FWIW: I, like a lot (?) of people, haven't or don't follow the drawing/heat numbers that closely on the barrels. Instead I just use the date.
...
I think this is an accurate statement: Most collectors would say the date is the thing considered and not the steel lot #'s on a barrel. So your barrel date is 2-43. Scott Duff uses a 3-month...
Cool!
Thanks................
I'll be trying that soon. I also need to look if it's allowed (well exactly what it says) about how you can and cant mount the sling to the front swivel.
Sunray:
Thanks for the usual useless sarcasm.
OP:
I too have been looking at that. So you leave the front alone, run it down and under the rifle and, then loop it thru the left side of the...
Sunray:
Maybe in Canada they have 1943 marked M1 bolts but not in the US. I'm not sure what you are talking about...............
OP:
I use Scott Duff for my references- I feel he is the most...
Chances are the builder messed it up............... To be that far off- the barrel pin is canted or was shorn off being too aggressive putting the barrel on the receiver.
What is a "m2" barrel?
OP:
You re correct. Set the rear sight to mech zero and adjust the front........... (loosen the side you are shooting on)
Instructions are here:

There are several but I prefer:
Creedmoor Sports.
