Posting for a friend. He has a lock plate for a Model 1861, dated 1863. Pretty decent condition, used but not abused. HAs good clear EAGLE and all writing legible.
Also has a US marked buttplate...
Came across some old Garand clips filled with FMJ and brass simply marked "30-06 WRA".
No dates, nothing else. Wondering if these could be surviving WWII ammo?

I have a very late Springfield (s/n 5799XXX) M1 that seems to be all correct Springfield parts, including the barrel and stock with the DOD stamp.
However the trigger assemble appears to be all HRA....
Mu cousin has an old trapdoor that needs a Buffington rear sight, and screws if possible.
