Thanks for the info. Yeah the markings indicate it was built at Fazakerley and it doesn't have the Mk 2 upgrade markings stamped on it. It's etched as No 4 Mk 1 (F) 2/49.

I'm the owner of a '49 No.4 Mk 1 and am wondering if anyone recommends any spare parts to keep on hand (extractor, springs,etc..) for these rifles. Do certain parts tend to need to be replaced before...
