That would be my thoughts too. The X looks like it was scratched with a knife but the T and E almost have a old style of font look to them. Well seems that its another wish it was but not quite there...

I have come across a SG marked recoil plate that also has a R stamped above the SG. It is stamped between and above the SG. Anyone know if this is a sub-contractor mark or ??

The belt is stamped with the bullet and mills logo. The loops are just folded over they are the same size. Did not notice a patent date on the metal, just said anson mills and the city.

A gentleman show me this belt . Was wondering if it indeed was a navy krag belt and what would a guess be on price ?

Greg check out your local pawn shops. Sometimes they remove slings and put them in a bin or something and sell them for cheap. I picked up several for less than $25 and are nice.

There was a belt on ebay like this one only with the marine corps snaps that sold for $1780. I have seen a picture of a marine wearing this belt also but cant remember where so I could post it....

No, the magazine lays horizontal and the small pockets hold 7 loose rounds. Thje belts for the .38 ammo had all small pockets and I believe eight of them.
