Do lend lease trench guns exist? Are they marked in a similar fashion to the 1911A1 pistols?
One of my ONG folders has no bayonet lug and it has the shorter tube.
I emailed Mr Stimson about the Gunbroker and the pre98 trench guns.
Here is his response
Hello Brian,
I have very little research about High Standard riot guns. The only
research I have...

Any way to tell a real one from a made up one?
Without paperwork from Crane how do you know if a duck bill is original or not?

Has anyone ever seen a replacement slide bar on a Winchester trench?
Serial number is 677,000 range. It's not a refinished gun and all the other parts are genuine.
The wear marks...

I was able to buy a fixed one direct for $229. My folder was bought on the open market after the fact and I paid $1000 for it
It would be great if a sticky could be created showing how to spot fakes. It would save new collectors a ton of money.
Seems over priced to me for a refinished gun. I've never seen an original model 12 with a WB on the stock either
Nice find. Let me know if you find 3512560

I'm not familiar with these. Are those US markings correct or were they added?
Also, a GHD marked stock on a Vietnam era shotgun ?

"Right side of receiver has “US” and flaming bomb markings that are probably bogus and later added. Bayonet lug/heat shield may be a reproduction and...
So did you buy it?
The price is slightly high but not out of line for an as new 1943 Colt. On Gunbroker it would bring an easy $3000-$3500, higher if listed by a popular seller.

Thanks, I'll give it a go
I picked up a US marked model 10 and the take down latch doesn't want to move. I've been soaking it with penetrating oil for several weeks. I'd like to find a competent gunsmith to send it to
Good deal. I think the lack of feedback scared a lot of bidders
What's a fair price for a non numbers matching M10 trench with a repo handguard and poor finish?
