I'm not a Garand Stock expert by any means. But doesn't the one with the fatter heel look like an HRA?

ripper, ripper, ripper ....... we buy you books and buy you books but all you do is color the necked women.
Fortunately, or UNfortunately in your case, until you go back and EDIT your posting,...
ripper, that's one of the most illiterate postings I have ever read on here.
Should I listen to you and NOT put any grease on my M-1's or M1A's the next time I fire them?
OR, should I listen to...
Try going here ..... I have used some of these tables for years..... it's a good starting point ...

If the M-1 was truly "the finest battle implement ever devised by man ..." as Patton said, and the M-14 corrected all the "flaws" in the M-1, then what does that make the M-14?
I don't guess all...
I bought one each Moss M-44 for each of my 4 grandkids, maybe one day their parents will let them shoot them.
I used to shoot in the regular monthly Military Matches locally, 200 yds. I did a lot...
Took you two M-14's to do it?
Does it function out of the Stock? Boyds Stocks are often not completely finished. Take the receiver out, slide the trigger group back up, and try it.
Good GRIEF!!!!! Comparing the AR-15 to the M-14 is like comparing Termites to Elephants.
The AR-15's in use by you "Range Warriors" is NOT the same weapon used in combat, NOR the same AR-15...
There is no way that can be cracked by firing. The OpRod cannot allow the bolt to hit the heel, there have been tests firing a Garand without the back heel, and they functioned.
It probably left...
I am interested in the history of all my rifles. But I will not speculate on what part went where on the "midnight shift".
My HRA's all have HRA parts.... when someone picks one up, I can say,...
An old shooting buddy was quite a "cheapskate" too. When we would plan a trip to the range, he would go by the local Gun Shop, dig in a barrel the guy had for cheap ammo, and pick up 20 - 30 rounds...
That sure looks like a Boyd's stock to me. If so, kinda hard to be "Original".
It looks a lot like my Winchester except my stock is WWII issue....
Got some surface rust around that sight..... Us Jarheads notice stuff like that..
A lot of Flip Switches and Connectors there ........... is the BATF watching?
A friend had an M1A that would get erratic on him. I surmised that the bullet was nicking the Flash Suppressor occasionally.
I pulled it off, took a drill and opened it up a few millimeters. To...
Yes, post it. That way I can tell you if it was stolen from me or not...
I have a Winchester Garand built in late 1941. I have it probably 90% restored, I got the hard part, the barrel.
But I'm SURE it was at the battle of Iwo Jima, D-Day, and the Battle of the Bulge....
To hell with the cartridge belt.... I want to marry the dummy..
Have heard of various "bugs" in SA M1A's. The one I have there was supposedly a recall with the bolts being brittle. Some years back I contacted them, I shipped the barreled-receiver and bolt back...
So are you using this Garand at Camp Perry?
I think it's pretty IMPORTANT to make sure it's clean. Usually you can pop the Gas Cyl Plug, just run a cleaning rod with two patches on it through it....
Why not just stick a bullet tip lightly on to an empty case, insert it lightly into the chamber, lightly close the bolt, and you have the exact length of the chamber. Shorten it .005 - 010" and you...
Well, according to some on here, you only need to clean it ONCE a YEAR. Nothing can happen.
It won't rust ... it won't pit ....... OPRods are cheap.
He is so crooked that when he dies he will have to be screwed into the ground.
I only dealt with him once ..... and learned my lesson the hard way.
I actually covered this in another thread, but it's way down.
When I first installed a .308 barrel in my Garand, it was throwing the empty cases 20 Feet to the right. All kinds of suggestions...
