The serial number of the pistol is 800247 which is documented as being refinished. It seems to have a correct barrel but not original to the gun and that seems to be the case for the magazine and...

Looks like a good honest gun. I'd leave it as it is.

It's a desirable "WB" inspected early WWII Colt with an altered serial number which renders its value at nothing, if not illegal.

Sorry, no joy, but look at 348014 stolen then somebody put it back!
