The 330 Eagle head is the "proof mark". It just means the stock was accepted by Remington. There was no "firing proof P" during WW1.

Doesn't BF stand for Bonney Forge?
Looking for the above to add to my meager collection. Have cash or will trade Garand, 1903, or 1917 parts.
It's sold
Once again, Thank You Sir!
The butt stock itself looks to be "oiled" already..should I give that a rubdown too?
Thank you Sir. The wood appears to be beech, orange in color.
Getting a NOS No4 Mk1 stock to build a sniper clone . What would be the appropriate finish..BLO, PTO?
Recently purchased the above & am wondering..it has a Springfield barrel. Would this be correct for a 1.22 million serial no.?

Not so fast WHG...SRS is not just Springfield weapons. My Remington M1917 is listed As having been at Camp Funston in 1918, so it may be possible to find info on barrettcreek's rifle.
From what few photos there are, at the price you paid you did okay. As you said alot of the smaller parts MAY not be Eddystone, but they are not so expensive as to keep you from correcting them....
SWEET!!!!!!!!
I got that email in June of last year

Thanks for the note!
I posted this earlier on the CMP website:
