I shut off Midways email a while back. Could you share what the asking price was , is on the carbine mags?
Yes that is at least part of the reason you have feed problems,. It keeps the magazine from moving back and forth too much.
I put those mag catches in all shooter grade carbines.

Standard Products had a contract to rebuild carbines post war. You will see carbine of all makers with this mark. The stock will not be correct for restoration to WW II specs.
I am going to guess that the stock has been changed by a previous civilian owner. I will also speculate that the carbine is one of those that was sold to NRA members in 1963 by the DCM. These are...
