Just checked my M1 service model its sn. 228 barrel date 2-24. A little to early no marking on barrel

Ok, my rifle sn. 798 has the bolt detent on the bottom of extractor. But no hole for the bolt stop pin. Sorry should of be more clear on that.

Just learned something new...

My rifle sn 798 barrel date 8-22, has no hole. Also my stock has grasping groves.

Nice looking rifle, punch mark in the center of bomb indicates the rifle was overhauled. Or at least reinspected.

I looked up the sn., Its not listed in the DCM Rifle Sales book. Now that doesn't mean its not a NM rifle. It should have a cartouche D.A.L. Or S.A. S.P.G. Buying firearms like that its best to see...

Your 1840 is it original flint or a reconversion. Those sre very rare today. Wish i had one the last one i saw went for 20k.

My 1842 saw hard use, like so many Hall carbines. The other rare one in the collection is the 1840 elbow lever. Only 500 were produced before the fishtail lever came into use.
