Thanks Johnny. I knew this was a rebuild but was questioning the Redfield mount. This has a R in a circle. Wondering if this is a commercial unit or was it ever used in the theater.
Looking for some info on this Redfield mount. I have seen A4's on line and evidently the original mounts are marked Redfield on the right side rear and have also seen them marked the same way with a...
What would be the fourth variation?
A friend has the rifle described above. I am interested in buying it from him and was looking for a fair price to offer him. Thanks for your insight!
Thanks Bruce. Wasn't sure what it was worth being the receiver is a RI finished at Springfield.
Trying to get a reasonable value to a RI rifle a friend has for sale. RI serial 129xxxx with a 11/42 SA barrel. I know this has been refurbished at some point as the stock has no GG and it has a...
Thanks for the help!
Anyone know how far back records were kept. Interested to see if serial # 134601 pops up anywhere. Built in 1906 and was a converted rifle to 30-06. Just wondering! Thanks
Thanks for replying John. I was hoping to hear from you. I too thought the 2 bolt stock was late. The ladder sight as been replaced as well as the butt plate as it should be smooth. Everything else...
Probably not. I have others that I can shoot. Very nice bore for a barrel this age.
Fell into this at a gun show Sunday. Couldn't pass it up. Looking for opinions from the forum. Here it is!
Thanks John. Was hoping to have a hit. Looks like in good company. Never had a prewar 03.
Are the early rifles listed? Serial #134601 Springfield.
Were Lyman Alaskan commercial scopes ever used on the 1903A4 or the M1C Garand?
At this point I have to assume my barrel is a early dated replacement. 4 groove with a mirror bore. Because of the metal finish I believe the rifle has gone thru a rebuild. All the parts are the same...
P on bottom of barrel and a dot in flaming bomb. That is all I see.
Just purchased a Remington 1903A4. Question arises about the barrel date. 3-43 on receiver serial #3418130 which I think dates to August of 43. Could this be the original barrel? Mirror bore. Thanks!
Thanks John! Christmas wishes to you and your family as well!
Looking for info on RI serial #326597. Thanks!
Thanks for your help. Always need to check! Might get lucky.
Any SRS info on a Rock Island 326597 w/10-18 barrel. Thanks!
Thanks John! I will pass this info along. Looking forward to another year of your insights. Have a great year.
Have a fellow collector friend of mine that just acquired a 1903 Mark I that has been re-stocked with a scant stock. I thought I read some where that the scant stocks were cut for both the 1903 & the...
Is the tip on a Mark I stock supposed to marked on the tip in some way?
