If that’s the case I’m going to have to start cutting barrels and installing heat shields to thin out the herd. I wondered if this was maybe a Counterfeit Trench Gun LLC creation.

The seller even says it’s a fake. Not a bad looking refinished gun but everything about it is fake, whoever made it just invented their own markings. You could get a real one for that price.

Stevens trench and riot guns have 20” barrels.
It “only” went for $13,500. I was expecting it to go for much more.
Nice! Is this from the same seller that had that NIB Stevens 520-30 trench gun last May/June? I think that went for $15k+.
The WWI Stevens 520 prototype trench gun lot# 3473 sold for $10,925.
Possibly SB 9-117 “Repair and Replacement of Parts for Commercial Shotguns”
I couldn’t find anything in TM 9-2117 or TM 9-285 that listed specific NSNs or supply part numbers.
If you post some...
OK...that’s officially the most ludicrous thing I’ve heard today.
I’ve carried a Benelli M4 in combat several times.
The late production Stevens heat shield is a nice touch.
Thanks, I live in VA so not a long drive for me but it would be good to have someone who knows their way around. Do you have contact details for Andrew?
Thanks Steve,
Has anyone tried a trip to Savage to see what’s in the historical vault? Will they entertain visitors on research missions?
I know that John Callahan, the Savage historian retired....
Really neat picture! I assume you’re talking about the National Archives in DC or one of the repositories in Maryland? I’d love to go check it out and see if there are any pictures of the Stevens...

Hello everyone,
I’m posting this here and on Gun Boards, the pictures show up larger over there for some reason.
I’ve got something very interesting to share today that not many have seen....
I believe you.
Did your gun have civilian markings like the one in the link you sent? Maybe Stevens did a clean up of whatever they had on hand to satisfy their first delivery to the War Dept,...
I wouldn’t rule it absolutely not factory applied. There are some early M520-30 riot guns with the hand stamped “M.520 U.S” on the receiver that looks like it was done by a kindergartener. I...
Scosgt,
Thank you, I had not seen an example like that before, very interesting. Happy to learn something new today. That’s an early Model 620A receiver, Stevens is still using the old “Stevens...
Scosgt,
Off topic, but I’d love to see a picture of an unserialized pre-war Model 620 (620A). I believe all Model 620s (1927-39) and all Model 620As (1940-48), including WWII production, are...
Yes, the receiver is a real military riot gun. It's one of the early block of Stevens riot guns, and some long-barreled training guns, that were made pre-WWII. Hard to find these.
Seller is...
Here's a fake M620 trench gun for sale on Gun Broker. Just posting as an exercise in identifying them for anyone that may be considering a purchase, or even looking at this gun, and this forum has...
Agreed, that was the 1% of collectible Stevens shotguns. Maybe there’s a NIB 620 trench gun out there somewhere. A 520-30 in 95% should probably only be around $3500-$4000 in my opinion.
Didn’t know that, faulty assumption on my part. I was looking at the other items they are selling that are from the same “40+ year collection” and one of the 1911s has supporting photos from a...
This is part of Lynn Lugar’s collection.
Has anybody else been watching this one on Gun Broker? Truly impressive gun and likely a record sale for a Stevens trench gun.

GA-Dave,
Value will depend on the following:
-Has it been modified in any way (refinished, recoil pad, barrel shorter than 20”, etc)?
-Do all the serial numbers match (barrel, receiver/trigger...
