Thanks gentlemen!
This weekend I was rewiring my grandfathers camp and I helped a elderly gentleman a few camps down unload a cord of fire wood and he asked me if I shoot 30.06 and I said yes so he tossed 2 20 round...
I would have to go with WW1 unissued but could be a light refurb ww2. its tricky to judge the finish via pictures because ikt looks like it is blued, parked and a mixture at the different angles.
damn that is one nice rifle!
funny, I have a Winchester with an Eddystone bolt and you have an Eddystone with a Winchester bolt. want to trade lol
not sure why someone would purposely paint a red stripe, that is just strange...
the 1917's factory trigger is one of the best there is on a milsurp, why people alter it makes no sense!
hacked up original, way too short and they even sanded down the wrist hook!
I figured it out, someone machined down the sear.......alot!
wow amazing! thanks. how awesome would it be to own the very machines they used? I would love that!
I just grabbed a Eddystone sporter and the trigger pull is extremely light and I mean light, just a tiny bit of pressure and it breaks. All of my other 1917s have a 2 stage trigger so I took it apart...
wow, awesome!

There was a short mentioning of them being sent to Russia in the "For collectors only" book about the Model of 1917 & pattern 1914 rifles and I also seen a 2 second clip of them being handed out to...
yes, we sent some but I haven't been able to get any detailed information and have been searching for roughly 10 years. I did read that the majority of them were the early star winchesters that were...
were the M1917s that we sent to Russia under lend / lease marked in any way? Also, were any of them returned?
My first was an old ratty Brazilian Mauser carbine in 7.62x51 got it when I turned 18 back in 2001. Oh the days of getting a box of LC 70's 7,62 for $6.25!
Damn fine rifle!
I was thinking about grabbing this old semi-sported No.4 from one of the local shops for a possible restoration/rebuild project. It hasn't been altered other than the timber cut down just behind the...
Yes, the only time a NO.4 was guaranteed to be correct is when it was leaving the factory of production. That is a very nice rifle, and the wearing Suncorite finish is just more character.
