Hello Tom:
Good to see you here on the Forum. It seems like it has been a long time since we have communicated. Hope all is well with you.
Here are a couple of pics of the Trenchgun version...
Here you go, Jeff. These few pics below from a recently completed auction will illustrate the folding stock version of the Ohio NG M870s. Not my gun, but I lifted the pics to provide some badly...

Gentlemen:
I don't see any difference in value between a genuine M1 NM rifle sold by the DCM and a genuine NM rifle later sold by the CMP. There might be a small nostalgia factor for a NM rifle...
Yep. The M160 7.62mm frangible cartridge was used for training purposes on the coaxial machine gun on the M60 tank. It was intended for use on enclosed or semi-enclosed ranges. The projectile...
CplNorton:
Documentation on the MC-58 rifles is very scarce. Would you mind posting what you have found on them, as you have generously done before with documents on the Springfield and M1917...
Well, cplnorton, I sure hope you can find that image. The MC-58 guns have pretty much been invisible when it comes to photos taken while in service.
Regards,
Charlie
Keith:
I have not seen a period photo of the MC-58 rifle in USMC use since I started this thread way back when.

Charlie
Yes, indeed, interesting stuff. On pages 1 and 2 the documents/articles on the left hand side appear to be taken from a civilian publication, perhaps the American Rifleman. They are not Ordnance...
July 14 is Bastille Day in France. To mark the occasion a huge parade on the Champs Elysee in Paris was held. The US was invited to have its military represented, and was given the first place in...
Well, I have no idea what the disruption was all about but I was very disappointed when I could not get to one of my favorite sites, this one. The problem, whatever it was, now seems to have been...
Agreed. Nice job. I will look forward to when the other weapons get "populated" on your site. Thanks.

Charlie
Gents:
I don't know about the particular forum the original poster asked about. It is true that traffic here on the Jouster/CSP site seems to have dropped off. Not sure just why. Maybe all of...
That's very cool. Thanks.
I hope that we can hear more from you after your NARA on what you found. Will you be publishing something or putting it on the web?
Regards,
Charlie
Your Camillus is Viet Nam era or later production. It has been field modified with the serrations.
The blade guys at the US Militaria Forum can probably confirm this for you if you need to do...
Thank you, Dick. That is what I needed.

Dick:
Can you provide the exact title of the book and the ISBN, please? A search of Amazon and other likely locations did not turn up a Krag book by Joe Farmer for me. Thanks.
Charlie
Great. Thanks for the ID, guys.

Charlie
Not sure of the date or place but I suspect it shows men in Great Britain during WW2 practicing (without ammo). I don't recognize the actions on these rifles as I am not expert on foreign guns. ...
I have to agree that the James Jones' quote was a doozy. I read From Here to Eternity about an eternity ago but did not note then nor long remember that quotation. And he was right, to boot. It's...
Thank you, too, USMC69. Nope, that is not an MC-58 but a Model 65. Nonetheless, it is a heck of a good photo and one of the very few I have ever seen of any of the H&R .22s in service. Also the...
Thank you for the suggestion, N64. I am acquainted with Dave, have posted on his site before and have discussed the lack of period MC-58 pics with him. Dave is a very knowledgeable and helpful guy....
The MC-58 rifle manufactured by H&R in the 1950s was an interesting USGI .22. When the CMP sold the few they were able to obtain there was a lot of interest.
My question has to do with these...
Mark:
Buy it if you like it, but the collectability of it has been substantially reduced by the refinish. It came out of the factory as a blue gun. Can't say for certain if it was USGI but the...
