Waiting for it to show up at my FFLs. I will likely replace the barrel and see how it hunts.

Thanks Tom. It was sold by the DCM as a 1903A1 on July 7, 1936 to Dr. Vernon C. Branham, Fallsburg, NY
Thanks! How have you been? Find any nice rifles lately?
Serial number 1212091. I believe the rifle was originally built with a low number receiver which was later exchanged for this one. Thanks!
I have used this stuff with excellent results in the past.

Unlike raw linseed oil, PTO will dry. It also has a golden hue to it.

You could probably buy a real M14 and a couple cases of ammo for 30K.
Is that Arabic on the stock disk?
In service grade or better condition and no rebuild marks.
I think it's important to remember that not all Marine 1903s have all of the Marine characteristics. That said, that is a pretty neat buttplate. I strongly recommend shooting it. Mine is my favorite...
They also have a 6.08 mil Springfield light rifle that is consecutive to a rifle currently on the CMP auction site.
Nothing in my 4 books
Threaded muzzle is for a grenade launcher, or combo device of the type used on FN Fals. I have one in 7.62x51 with the grenade launcher....
I would most definitely go for it! $100 is a trip to the range and an hour of casual shooting with an AR-15.

1938 Winchester Model 70 in 30-06 topped with a Lyman Alaskan(I believe its pre war, but not sure)....
Does anyone have one? I might have found a decent one but the only hint towards USMC service is a punch mark in front of the serial number.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful!
Many variations of Finnish Mosins and they do seem to be more accurate, the barrels are shimmed to the stocks on many of them. Here's a few pictures of my Finnish M91....
