I need a 1903 stock
I recently picked up a 1903 that has been moderately sporterised. The metal is unmodified but the stock and handguard have been cut and the upper band deleted
Has anyone bought a new stock from Sarco?
I don't expect top quality for $150 but it doesn't hurt to ask
Any other sources?

Look at Dupage Trading company.

Thanks Scott, I forgot about them

Is it cut before or after the rear band. Can you do a duffle cut and save some money.
-
It's cut above the band where do I get the front end of a stock?
-
Sarco has the ends, if they still do. I recomend using accu-glass from brownels. it's the best epoxy.

They stilll have them, but they are now 44.00. They used to be very cheap.

Use a wood dowel to glue the two pieces back together. Use plenty of release agent on the lower band and barrel, install the front band, and if the wood matches you can't tell it was cut. Have put K98k stocks with duffle bag cut back together this way, but cleaning rod and keeper make them more complicated.

Way back when it was just a rumor that the CMP was gonna offer springfields, I went hitting up all the local gunshops and bough up any springfield stocks they had laying around. I have 4 original springfield stocks left that I will probably never use.
If your interested, I could let you have one for less than what Dupage or anyone else charges for a new made replacement. Let me know if your interested, I can send pics

Thanks Johnny
I'm weighing options
