I posted on another thread about the Kibbutz that fought off Hamas on Oct 7. Here is a report on what happened, and its a tribute to what can happen when the person in charge uses their head for more than a hat rack and uses initiative. After four hours of heavy fighting these people had stacked at least two dozen dead attackers around their perimeter without a single casualty until "the cavalry" in the form of the Israel Army mechanized infantry arrived and killed or ran off the remaining terrorists.
In any standup fight with Hamas, Islamic Jihad or Hezbollah the Israelis are the masters. The casualties often occurred in places where the people, despite having the resources to resist, were unprepared, complacent, or both. I heard one Israeli admit that the weapons at his Kibbutz hadn't been out of the arms room in years.
