Just like the Lugar, Mauser, 1903, BAR, 1911 and many other 100+ year old designs--they still shoot well and kill well.

We had one (legal) left by my Dad. It was the model with the smooth tank and butt stock like the one in the last picture. Most had the spade M2 type grips and were mounted on a carriage or heavy tripod.
