Live traps are the best for catching maurading critters. You can either dispatch or haul off for someone else to worry with.

Had a racoon tearing up bird feeder. Set trap and caught him first night. Big full grown boar coon, growled and moved toward me in cage. .22 short to head and haul him off.

My bloodhound is death on possums. She gives them the paint shaker treatment so no need for a finish off shot. Fortunately, no skunks in our 'hood so far! I do keep a bottle of 'skunk-off' on hand for when she rolls in decomposing fish, though. SW

Possums were hanging around my property. Found a stinking dead one trapped under my 24x24 deck after tearing up half the deck to get to it. Professional trappers wanted too much money with no guarantee. An old farmer told me to use ammonia in several old coffee cans spotted around the property. That worked!
