I have a wooden crate of 45 auto ammo. Original crate states 1200 rds repacked in 1945. Crate has been opened, but cover paper is still there as are all boxes of ammo. Anybody know what it may be worth in todays market?

WWII repacked is going to be corrosive primed for sure, and possibly steel case. Depends on what it is. I don't think a collector is going to pay shooter price for that much.

Evansville Chrysler made BILLONS AND BILLIONS of rounds of steel cased .45. It still appears in guns shows or dealer shelves. Because its so corrosive primed the value is less then new imported Russian. Quite a bit less I would say.

In the beginning EC came from EU Clair, Wisconsin and Chrysler had to plants in Evansville, Indiana. One plant was the Sun Beam plant.

Here is a listing from one online source into the collectibles market.

With the CMP moving M1911s there is a market for accessories like a box of vintage ammo. Onesey-twosey sales can be time-consuming but guys will pay more for a thing if it's just the one.

It's also possible you could get one of those collectibles purveyors to make you an offer that you can't refuse for the entire lot.

CCI has been making aluminum case "Blazer" handgun ammunition for years.
