I'm always finding new stuff, I've found I really like Lyle Lovett recently, and this lot:

In addition to classic rock, country and western, top 40 & talk radio which I checked above; I also like folk music, soul/R&B, gospel, both white and black, and old novelty songs. I even like a little big band (including western swing,) and show tunes.

big fan of PMJ's vids, they are very well done and sound great,


Seeing them in concert is a bit of a let down, since the 'Stars' in the vid rarely seem to tour with the band,

good show, but it was not something I would pay to see again,


Puddles, on the other had, put on a fantastic show, that big clown can sing,




wife and I used to (per Cooties) see 5-8 live shows a year, mostly 80's era New Wave type stuff, (last live show we saw was Costello, it was my 14th time seeing him live)


as far as genre's, I listen to just about everything except modern Country,,

lately been listening to some TripHop (Portishead) as well as Kate Bush and Bjork

There's loads of great music out there. Reina Del Cid, Delta Raye, Suddenly years align. Those just off the top of my head. I watch lots of stuff that I like but won't find it again with out looking. I was a big fan of Lyle Lovett twenty years ago. I never listen to music in the car. I don't understand a lot of Country these days. But The Circle? on t.v. is fun to watch. Not quite up to Prairie Home Companion and Austin City Limits.

Reggae, yeah, when the mood strikes.
I am no connoisseur of anything musical, hence my vote for BLuegrass.

I'm a Big Ska fan, esp the 80's English wave of Ska

seen most of the big names in concert,

like Reggae as well, but like you, when the mood strikes, (did see Burning Spear open for the Talking Heads in 84)

What was that Zidico or something years ago. I liked that. Tiny desk is great. I've seen some great stuff there.
So was Music Fog. That's where I first saw the Lovell sisters, now Larkin Poe.

Lovell sisters on Music Fog- Larkin Poe has gone to to be successful but when they were a trio they rocked. They are only about sixteen here.

One of the wonderful things about music and the internet is not being limited to what the recording companies release and the DJs play. There's a whole universe of really good music that when I was in high school, college and all the way through middle age just couldn't be accessed, at least without really working at it.

try being a punk\new wave fan back in the 80's,,,

had to find a record store that carried it (not that hard in RVA, since we are a College town, (VCU UR VUU)
but tickets and concert announcements were difficult,

some places used ticketmaster, but you had to go ask the clerk at the store who was around, (and you were lucky if they would tell you 5 names)
smaller clubs were word of mouth
and some places had a mailer\flyer ,


missed a lot of stuff by finding out the day of or after,

I'm all over the place. I'm a Parrot Head so I like Buffet, then Bag Pipes, the Piano Guys are good, I've just started listening to Celtic music and love listening to the Fishermans Friends.

I own a small farm their now and to this day am known as " El Gringo Primero " ... the first Gringo.

Couple of years ago I purchased a 100 year old five bed house in the city of Cartago , in Valle del Cauca

So the answer to both questions is... yes

Nothing wrong with Blue Grass. I watched my share of Hee Haw. Some good picking and a good time. I once thought about learning finger picking. But probably some maestro would show up and want to, well I don't know, critizize.

I can't spell, I can't pick. This is kind of a joke. Let's see if anyone gets it. The part about spelling and picking isn't a joke. A hint: aw Hell you guys aren't playing this right.
