Both of these were written by black men and initially performed by their authors in the last decades of "Jim Crow" which makes them especially interesting to me.
I've never been a huge fan of the music of "The Godfather of Soul." James Brown just wasn't my taste but his edgy style comes through well in "America is my Home" written in 1967. The other one, hey, its just fun and I may have posted it before. See how many famous old school rockers you can pick out in the band :icon_lol:
