Stumbled upon this cut down bayonet on e bay. Could this be an actual 1869 cadet bayonet or is it just a cut down?

Too bad no dimensions are given. Looks to be thinned as well as shortened. Might be worth asking - as I'd think that the source for bayonets to be issued with the M1869 Cadets would have been . . . . . . . . . "cut-down 1855s"! Do you have access to Reilly's book on U.S. bayonets?

Dick, he has given dimensions or at least holding a tape measure next to the bayonet in the last few photos. I do not have Reilly's book but your book The .58 and 50 caliber has dimensions listed on page 227. This bayonet does not seem to match those dimensions you give so most likely just short 1855??
