Got out and practiced a bit today using my new Nightforce scope at 100yds. Shot 3 10 rnd groups getting adjustment made. I think a couple more clicks of left windage and she will be in the grove.

Saw the first target and thought you had some vertical stringing going on. The other 2 are pretty settled though. Wish you lived closer I’d love to see some of your rifles stretched out, they’d do very fine I think.

Thanks, the first target was cold bore and I was walking the elevation down a click each shot till I got where I wanted. Next outing I will be taking the cap off the windage and giving here 2 clicks left. On the last target, the shot at 7 that is .75 out was entirely my fault, not the rifle. Even with that flyer, the rifle is shooting sub .5 moa average which ain't too shabby for an M14 type rifle shooting from a loaded mag. I also shoot off a bipod and a 3 legged portable table. I hope someday to take a couple of my rifles and see what they can do bagged off a concrete bench. Never shot off concrete in my 50+ years with the M14. First time for everything.
Most fun I have is building these in my shop to do the best I can.

I’m a bolt gun guy and a lot of use wish our bolt guns would hold 1/2 MOA. I’ve shot off concrete benches as part of a PRS match, we used part of the bench rest range on that match. I used a bag instead of bipod due to bipod jump, I was shooting a lighter rifle then though. It felt weird setting at a bench versus prone or contorted in some weird fashion the match designer pulled out of his hat.

Vertical adjustment explains the string. Never had a battle rifle that could shoot like that. However yours is kind of a different animal than the FALs,M14s, and G3s I have owned or shot. Very nice rifle.

Since I retired a few years ago I have been having a ball building up rifles that perform. Beats the heck out of some of the other past times us old guys have.
Nice to have a range, of sorts, in my yard too. Keeps me out of trouble.

Agreed I have to drive a couple miles, right out my back door would only make my habits more costly, lol
