Belated Birthday Present

Tuesday was my 62nd birthday. Uneventful. Just went to the office, etc. Today a text came from my daughter in New Jersey. Her daughter is 23 months old. Has not talked. Makes noises, etc. But no speech. Various tests showed developmental delay. Today my daughter sent me a text. The speech therapist was at the house. My precious little grand-daughter picked up a book and carried it to her mother and spoke clearly the word, "Mama." We are hoping and praying that she will be alright. Today was for all of us a real encouragement. One of the very best birthday presents I've ever received. Sincerely. bruce.

some kids just wait to talk. one of my friends kids was almost 4 before he would talk. now ya cant shut him up.

Not to panic. My daughter refused to talk for a long time. It was later discovered that she had had an ear infection that temporarily impacted her hearing. The speech therapist correctly predicted that she would catch up and she eventually finished university with no problems.
