We are back up on a new server but I did chicken out on the upgrade. There are some good reasons for doing it, but last time I tried the database would no upgrade and we were down for two days while it tried so we will stay with the newest iteration of version 4.

The database exceeded the allowable size on the server without paying a horrendous price for it. I made every effort to reduce the size without deleting any pertinent posts and using compression, but to no avail so I found a less expensive host and moved the site. Took a bit of doing to reinstall the site, import the database and correct the errors but we should be good for the foreseeable future with no further worries about the database size.

Thanks again Pat....maybe a way to keep it from eventually happening again, or delaying it longer would be to limit the size of posts thesame way twitter does. 150 characters is really too restrictive, but maybe something like 5K characters,

Probably not necessary. This new host doesn't limit the database size at all.
